INSURANCE/DIRECT BILLING

  • At Mission Village Health, we believe that focusing on your recovery should be your top priority. To make your experience as seamless as possible, we offer direct billing to most major extended health insurance providers for Chiropractic care, Physiotherapy, Registered Massage Therapy, and Acupuncture.
  • Instead of paying the full amount upfront and waiting for a reimbursement check, we submit the claim on your behalf at the time of your appointment. You only pay the remaining balance (the “co-pay”) that your insurance does not cover.

Important Things to Know

  • Bring Your Card: Please bring your current insurance card (or digital version) and a valid photo ID to your first appointment.
  • Coverage Limits: Every plan is unique. We recommend checking with your provider to see if you require a doctor’s referral for specific services (like Massage Therapy) or if you have a yearly deductible.
  • Portal Downtime: Occasionally, insurance portals may be down for maintenance. In these rare cases, we will provide you with a detailed receipt so you can submit the claim manually.

Janice graduated from the University of Alberta in the first Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy program and has been practicing as a physical therapist since 2006. In 2011, she partnered with a colleague and opened a busy sports and orthopedics clinic in Edmonton, Alberta, however the mountains and lakes drew Janice to Kelowna in 2024, where she has now set her roots.

Janice has a keen interest in restoring movement patterns with IMS/dry needling. Having had close collaborations with chiropractors, The Bone & Joint Clinic, and hand therapists in the past, she has extensive experience working with necks and backs, shoulders, post-op hips and knees, and hand injuries. She is also certified in spinal manipulation and basic TCM acupuncture.

Although petite, don’t underestimate her strength! Janice regularly works out, runs, and partakes in a wide range of activities such as pickleball, Pilates, skiing, golfing, and ball hockey.

Raised on an orchard in Oliver, BC, Dr. Amit Chahal brings a deep-rooted sense of community and a hard-working Okanagan spirit to his practice. After completing his BSc in Microbiology at UBC Okanagan, he moved to Portland Oregon to attend the University of Western States. There, he earned both his Bachelor’s in Human Biology and his Doctor of Chiropractic, graduating summa cum laude.

Dr. Chahal’s approach to musculoskeletal pain goes far beyond the traditional “pop and crack.” He utilizes an evidence-informed toolkit designed for modern healthcare. Rather than relying on a single method, he integrates multiple treatments and modalities including spinal and extremity manipulation and mobilization, spinal decompression, soft tissue therapy, Class 4 laser therapy, radial shockwave therapy, and functional rehabilitation. This comprehensive approach reflects the shift in progressive MSK care, focusing on functional recovery and evidence based treatments.

A cornerstone of Amit’s practice is patient education; he empowers individuals with an understanding of their own body as an essential component for lasting results. While he welcomes patients aged five and up, Amit has a special interest in sports injuries and helping active individuals return to the movement they love.

When he isn’t at the clinic, you’ll likely find him on a pickleball court, at the gym, or exploring the outdoors. Amit, his wife Parveen, and their Labradoodle Leo have been in the upper mission since 2022.
